natural skins, a breed that is here in the region called fleckvieh.

Each piece is lovingly unique... for the cowhide series of Alpenleder we use
only natural skins of a breed that is called Fleckvieh here in the region.
These cow skins are a "waste product" of agriculture or the food industry.
However, only the most beautiful and valuable skins are selected by hand, the
remaining skins are processed into cowhide.
These hand-picked skins are selected exclusively according to their quality
and appearance. The decisive criteria for this are the colours of the coat, the
size of the perfect surface, but also the coat density and the hair length are
a decision criterion. Since each cow is as unique in its colour scheme and
design as the human fingerprint, each of our products is unique and the photos
shown are only to be understood as sample images. However, the natural colour
scheme is always golden brown and white is "Salt and Pepper". The further
processing of the skins takes place in the tannery, by natural salts and
vegetable oils the skins are made durable and resistant. Only then can our
täschners start your work and prepare the individual parts for each product,
while carefully ensuring that the individual parts fit together in a harmonious
way and thus create these beautiful unique pieces.
